University of Essex rises slightly in Sunday Times university guide

THE University of Essex has risen slightly in a national university guide since last year.

In the Sunday Times University Guide, the Wivenhoe-based uni is ranked 46th in the UK, an improvement of one place since last year.

But, worldwide it slipped from 315 to 321 in the same period.

It also scored well in the student satisfaction bracket, with 89 per cent saying they enjoyed their time.

Professor Anthony Forster vice-chancellor said: “We are giving the highest priority to ensuring our graduates are equipped with the skills, knowledge and experience to succeed.”

Zain Kukaswasdia, vice-president for the Students’ Union, said: “We are now working very closely with the university on improving graduate prospects for our students, initiatives such as the Big Essex Award, V-awards and many other employability projects will help raise the skills, knowledge and experience of students graduating from Essex.”
