A12 reopened after car smashed into central reservation

Update: A12 now reopened.

THE A12 has been closed northbound by the U's stadium (junction 28) after a four car crash.

Motorists are being forced to leave via the exit sliproad and re-join the other side of the accident.

Traffic is queuing back to the Spring Lane junction (junction 27).

An Essex Police spokesman said: “A black MG ZR struck the central reservation on the northbound carriageway of the A12, near the Colchester United stadium, shortly before 2pm today.

“The male driver sustained minor injuries.”

This article is incorrect, I was the main witness to this.
The MG passed me driven by the elderly mans daughter with her 2 kids in the back, the car suffered a rear tyre puncture that caused her to lose control, no other vehicles were involved but some stopped to offer assistance.
Please don't assume that an accident is caused by the driver texting or not paying attention, cars like any other mechanical device fail sometimes.

Will there be a day when there isn't an accident in and around Colchester.

Hope everybody's OK. I remember the days when there were no barriers. It took long enough to provide them after public complaints.

A12 is getting much worse, I've started going up the M11 and across the A120. Distance-wise it's longer but takes the same time and it's quieter.
