Police issue efit of would-be burglar
DETECTIVES have issued an efit of a would-be burglar who targeted a home in Clacton.
The man was spotted trying to get in to a flat in Carnarvon Road, close to its junction with Skelmersdale Road.
He was seen using a ladder while trying to break in through a window.
Investigating officer, Det Con Kat Burke, said: "This man had forced open a second-floor window and was about to climb into the property via the bedroom.
“When he had been caught in the act, he began abusing the flat owner and then threw eggs at the wall.
“We would ask people to look closely at the efit and contact us with a name.
“We’re still keen to hear from witnesses who saw the incident in the first place.”
The burglar, pictured in the efit, is described as white, in his late 20s, has shaven dark brown hair and is of chubby build.
He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at 2pm on September 19, is asked to call detectives at Clacton police station on 101.
