Colchester: Woman left shaken after attempted robbery

POLICE are appealing for the public’s help in tracing the teenage suspect of an attempted robbery.

Attempts were made to steal a woman’s handbag as she walked home along a footpath which runs between East Bay and Haddon Park, Colchester, between 8.45am and 8.55am this morning.

The suspect is described as white, aged about 17, 5ft 11ins tall, of skinny build with a pale complexion. He wore a royal blue tracksuit top and white trainers and had black unkempt hair.

Police understand the woman was assisted by a man who had been walking his dog. Officers are particularly keen to speak with this man who may be able to assist the investigation. He is described as white, aged in his 30s, 5ft 8ins tall and was wearing a green parka style coat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Mark Peacock at the Colchester target offender team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

See tomorrow's Gazette for an interview with the victim.

afraid the rest of europes daily problems have migrated into our green & pleasent lands.

BIG cities are breeding grounds for lawlessness which overspill.

Time for our 24hour a day lawkeepers to be reclaiming our streets back, but to do so they need to reclaim back the £42 million they lost,
before we lose more lives/handbags/more lawlessness.
It seems you cant run a peacekeeping force on a cut price budget!
