Sports store under threat after company goes into administration

COLCHESTER’S last remaining JJB Sports store could shut after the retailer announced plans to appoint administrators.
As many as half of JJB’s 180 stores are expected to close once the group has appointed KPMG as administrators in the next few days, placing 4,000 jobs under threat.
Those under threat include Colchester’s store in Sheepen Place. Last June a 22,500 sq ft town centre store, in St Nicholas Square, was one of 43 shut.
