Essex Uni researchers to study impact of local food
11:00am Saturday 22nd September 2012 in News
A MAJOR study into the benefits of sourcing food locally will be carried out at Essex University this year.
Researchers will examine whether buying and selling locally sourced food contributes to the well-being of suppliers and consumers, and the impact on farmers.
The study is funded by the East of England Co-operative and the British Academy.
Research officer Dr Zareen Bharucha is looking for people in Essex who actively buy locally sourced produce and those who do not and farmers from across the region who supply local markets.
To get involved contact Dr Bharucha at zpbhar@essex.ac.uk .
