Man with metal plate in his jaw after Colchester street attack

A MAN had to have a metal plate inserted into his face after a gang of thugs attacked him outside a bar in Colchester.
 

Police were called to St John’s Street at 11.50pm on Friday, August 31, after three men assaulted a 21-year-old from Colchester outside the Dirty Penguin bar.
 

He was taken to hospital with severe facial injuries.
 

Det Con Dominique Savory said: “There was some form of argument outside the club which then escalated into something more serious.
 

“This man sustained a broken jaw and has had a metal plate inserted into his face to help with the recovery.”
 

One witness, who police are looking to trace is white, approximately 5ft 5ins tall and was wearing distinctive blue Nike trainers.

Anyone with information in connection with this assault is urged to contact detectives at Colchester police station on 101.
