Isn't Longridge just a posh name for part of the Greenstead estate?
Greenstead Estate was built in the 1950s and 1960s and extended in the 1970s.

I have lived in an around Colchester for 47 years and I can tell you there are far worse places to live such as Barnhall and Monkwick. Even places like Lexden have their problems!

as we gathered outside, waiting for friends arrival, we were faced with an elderly blackman, in a disabled scooter, shouting abuse at anyone who "dared" to look at him..
all this while we waited for the hearse to arrive.
local residents to our friends last arrival must know who this highly insulting blackman is, and should tell the somewhat "offbalanced" disabled blackman of our reason for being there...
was I disapointed, no, not really.
life has many faucets,
in different locations.
we were at the wrong place,
at the wrong time,
for the quite clearly unbalanced disabled blackman to vent his built up anger at...
Just hope it made him feel better,
"at the time"
made us smile at him though.

But 'blackman' (sic) as one word can only be a surname. And the fact somebody needed to reference the guy's skin colour not once, but use the word 'blackman' (sic) three times, seems to say a lot about that contributor.

the estate is the same as simular estates all over the country in style and layout.
Its a one design fits all for the then old council housing estates.
I can only speak of a few simular estates miles away from Greenstead,
but its residents on the whole are warm, welcoming, and generous to those who approach them.
Greenstead is the same.
notwithstanding, you get "wrong `ens" in any housing areas, be they private, tennented, or housing assocation.
We read of the actions of ex pig farmers in spacous bungalows who do time while working for us, would he be thought of as failing because of his homes location, or do we expect it only from Greensteads residents.
We read of multi billionairs who defraud, Councillors who defraud,
so please all, dont point fingers.

You persist on using a word that doesn't exist, except as a surname (which requires the capitalisation of the 'B'). This is very hypocritical - if you love the country so much, why not bother to learn the language?
6079, I said Blackman, as he was Black.
If he was a non white asian, I would have said non white asian.
I wonder if in police talk, they call Blackman,
not entirely white but a darker shade,
or do the police have different names for different shades of non white.
back in the days, he would have been called a sooty,
named after children who were chimney sweeps,
but I would hate to come across as non PC,
eh?
Oh, 6079, as you knew of Martin,
why then the drama queen approach as usual.
I was at a funeral, the non white mentally disabled motorised scooter user was not,
but causing "unpleasantness

Would it have been less acceptable,
or more acceptable if he was a white disabled mental case.
would your drama queen comments been so cutting then?

Look, I will always just view you as a sad old bigoted nutter, but not everybody might be as generous as me. So if you get hauled before the magistrates (and it's happening a lot these days over internet comments, for a lot less than you), the 'all done in the best possible taste' defence, might not go down too well. Some friendly advice, be careful. Or in the title words of that racist 1970s TV show - Mind Your Language!
By the way, the science of genetics is pretty clear about there only being one race, even if it does alarm me to think we have that in common.
