IN TODAY'S GAZETTE: WANTED! Essex police has issued a rogues gallery of five suspects they want to contact in connection with a spate of burglaries in Colchester.
* Five students are hoping to swim across the English Channel to raise money for a children's charity. Colchester Sixth Form College students Alanah Keeble, 17, Ed Clark, 18, James Rulton, 16 and Kai Adams, 16, along with Braintree College's Alice Park, 17, who are all members of Halstead Swimming Club are aiming to swim in relay to complete the 22 miles journey.
* A pensioner who admitted causing the death of a former Colchester United trainee has walked free from court. Donald Lambert, 83, drove into motorcyclist Deam Sadler who then hit a lampost and died. Lambert, of Mayes Lane, Ramsey, was sentenced to 100 hours unpaid work and banned from driving for 18 months.
* A man had his arms slashed repeatedly in a knife attack in Colchester.
