Square scheme 'will be an asset' to the town

THE lead urban design consultant working on a scheme to regenerate part of Colchester town centre says he can’t wait to get started.

Jo Fairfax will take the lead in designing Town Station Square, outside Colchester Town train station, which is due to be completed by the end of the year.

“This is a project I can’t wait to get started on,” said Mr Fairfax.

“I want to make it a really great for the people of Colchester to be and keep things as local as possible.”

He also said there are plans to engrave north Essex poets’ work in new stonework.

No more information is available on the project as exact plans have not yet been finalised.

The £270,000 scheme was delayed because agreement could not be reached with landowners Greater Anglia.

It had been hoped the scheme would be complete when the new magistrates court opened in April.

Looks OK as it is. Will it be an asset like Firsts*ite? (Albeit at less than 1% of the golden turd's cost)
