Vision for north Colchester approved by top councillors

DEVELOPMENT in north Colchester delivering up to 3,500 jobs got the thumbs up from council chiefs last night.

The Northern Gateway Vision, detailing what will be done with Colchester Council land by Cuckoo Farm, was agreed by the cabinet at a meeting last night.

Sports and leisure facilities and retail will make up a large amount of the site under the council's plans.

Council leader Anne Turrell revealed talks were ongoing with Sports England and other sports bodies about using parts of the site.

During the meeting councillors also approved plans for the Lancaster Toyota dealership, currently in Gosbecks Road, to move to a new site at Cuckoo Farm and kickstart development there.

That's all you got from the meeting Will? Were you sleeping...

Quite funny to read a story about Colchester Council including the word 'vision' though.

Vision & specsavers springs to mind here eh :)

Ok, your getting 3.500 new jobs alledgedly,
so with that, the planers will say there now is a need for 1200 new homes,
400 of them affordable homes, as the new workforce will be classed as unskilled, and non home owners..

Its a funny old world how planners get there own way at times!
