Store staff raise money for leukaemia charities

DIY store staff are doing it themselves with a series of events in aid of leukaemia charities.
Wickes Colchester will be hosting a rowing marathon next month aiming to row a million metres.
They have just hosted a bike raffle and raised £573.
Eight-year-old Charlie Bell was the lucky winner of the new BMX bike.
They have raised more than £5,000 so far this year with a Colchester United collection, music gig, raft race,
donation weekend, bookstall and more.
Ron Beard, manager of the Clarendon Way store, said: “With Colchester Wickes team support we are hoping to get into the Guiness Book of Records in October when we aim to row a million metres.
“We would like to invite all customers and all readers to support and watch us complete the challenge on Saturday, October 13th.
“You can even take part as we will have a spare rowing machine.”
