PUPILS from a Colchester school are set to go head to head with rivals from around the county for a top drama award.
Kids from Alderman Blaxill School, in Paxman Avenue, are taking part in a drama competition in which plays must depict complicated issues around mental illness.
The final of the competition takes place next Wednesday, September 12, at the annual public meeting of the NHS North Essex Partnership, at the Ivor Crewe Lecture Theatre, in Essex University.
Some 16 plays were submitted for the Soap Sense competition, each of which are ten minutes long. Four were selected.
Chelmer Valley School, in Chelmsford, West Hatch School, in Chigwell, and Woodlands School, in Basildon, were also shortlisted.
Kingswode Hoe, a Colchester school which helps pupils with learning disabilities, will also receive a Wellbeing Award for its play.
Entry is free and the plays begin at 3pm.
