I am completely aware of MPs being elected - who and where.

When I go overseas, which I do a lot, I am English - thats a fact. But its not an excuse to look down on other peoples way of life and be racist.

I watched a tv programme on Paul Simons involvement with south africans during there apartaid period.

What a can of worms! It is natural to be racist. I am a racist but I teach myself to be tolerant and to respect others and to embrace their ways, where my faith allows it. I simply do not like the way some immigrants refuse to integrate with us yet are happy to accept the benefits that we offer to them. I assume that they must be racists too.

Bwanna I am speaking from years of personnal experience in the UK and overseas where I have had to live and work cheek by jowl with people of all races - and had to be responsible for them on a daily basis - their work enviroment their accomodation and conditions. On the Arabian oil fields when you are incharge you carry the can for everything screw up you can end in jail.I had guys I was responsible for of all races religeons and cultures whose job it was to keep the oil rigs supplied to get the oil to sustain the wests life styles. Racism was not a part of the job it just couldn't be. Anyone racist did not last one week. We had one aim to keep the oil and petro dollars flowing. China and India are becoming the big producers China has big bucks invested in the UK like Felixstowe docks - why because we in the UK haven't kept pace with whats happening in a global world. Todays youth have no idea what they are facing in future years. So Britain has to learn or die because we are now being out classed!
Sdapeze Brits overseas form themselves into their own groups - from Saudi to Thailand you will find the George & Dragon. A mate of mine has one in Bangkok.
Immigrants come into the UK they feel the resentment so what do they do- they get togther because they feel comfortable with their own kind!
Brits do the same overseas no difference!

When I came onto the Gazette website and saw a total of twelve comments for this story, I had a feeling on reading them I'd find the world a scary place. Alas (even if this is something of a contradiction in terms), I was not disappointed.

Bwanna clearly lives in absolute fantasy world. There has never been a TV show with an Indian portraying a white racist, it only exists in Bwann'a head. There was though a brilliant programme that starred the Jewish Warren Mitchell, even if it rather confused the stupid. Mitchell has often recalled the time at a Spurs game, when a Bwanna type approached him and said;
'Love the programme Alf, the way you give it to all those immigrants.'
Mitchell responded angrily;
'We're actually taking the p*ss out of f*cking idiots like you!'

It is pretty obvious where the four year old gets his racism from, passed down from grandfather, probably to father, and then onto grandson (if not directly grandfather to grandson). What on earth is so funny about wearing head covering anyway? There are all sorts of very practical reasons for wearing head covering, not merely one of fashion. Compare that to the classic western attire of the tie, which is a completely superfluous item of clothing. So what should we really be laughing at?

I can only guess you don't follow the Bible completely down the line. While in the main I'd say that's a good thing, on the issue of race, it's ironically a bit of a pity. The idea of just one race, all descending from Adam and Eve, was the dominant idea among western civilisation, and beyond, until comparatively very recently. The idea was only binned to justify the slave trade, as how could treating Africans be justified before the word of god? Simple, you decide Africans are a separate race, and from there we ended up with all the pseudo science of eugenics, and eventually the Nazis.

Africa's problems are all ones created by a history of western imperialism, from slavery and empire onwards. So-called 'positive' discrimination is justified on the basis that there is so much 'negative' discrimination about. And of course there is. The research in this article confirms this.

However, discrimination is discrimination, and can only ever be negative. ShadowReturns you are perfectly correct in your comments. But it does show the degree/ depth of racism that still exists in the UK and the difficulty of addressing the problem. I suggest we do need to have the racism problem in the open and not bottled up and that we do debate the matter, as we are now, to show that some, not all, Brits have a more balanced and objective understanding. We should try to understand respect and bridge the gap rather that make it wider. A wider gap leads to underlaying and bigger problems that just keep fermenting.

Really are we going to go over this again? I have had one account banned after you decided to complain that I bullied you simply because I chose to pick apart the racist pathetic small minded and childish posts that you made several years back. Since that time i have continued to post under this name while you have switched usernames frequently.

Like the story alludes to what chance have youngsters got when their parents and grandparents are bigoted fools, what kind of children are these people responsible for raising for the future.

Cheers, but I'll be honest, I've now given up! I'd generally considered the sort of racism we see from Jaywick's jester, as not in the same league as say 'Positive Addition', whose views were unashamedly fascist. But I'm now guessing that's simply down to an intelligence issue. Jaywick's jester simply hasn't got the brains to even spout a fascist ideology. If he did have the brains he probably would.

Actually, I'm not totally sure this is a sexual reference, it might be from an expression of screwing somebody into the ground. But there are plenty of sexual references when it comes to swearing in English. When we say 'F you', we don't normally mean that we want to make love to that person!

that I along with a now small army of oil burners, use % mixes from a daring 100% to my more carefull 50% mixes of new, fresh, even drinkable cooking oil,

to power my beloved Landrover, thus leaving those who are easily led like sheep, into believing we have to pay top $$$ for our foriegn fuells.
