Police emergency calls rise by thousands


THE number of 999 calls to police in Essex are spiralling out of control.
 

Thousands of extra calls are being taken this year compared to 2011.
 

As a result officers in Essex are failing to get to emergencies in time.
 

They were called out to emergencies 5,279 times between April and May in 2011.


During April to May this year it rose to 7,266 calls - a 37 per cent increase.

This report actually answers the rising complaints about failure of duties. I reiterate how much can one officer do in a day? Cut their paperwork and let them get on with their job which is protecting the public not writing books.
