A CAKE maker has baked her way into the final of a national competition.

Natasha Fairclough, of St Mary’s Close, Aingers Green, has been shortlisted in Bake the Nation for her stunning jubilee-themed cake.

Natasha, 38, runs her own business, Flour Power Cakes, and was inspired by the national celebrations of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

“A lot of different techniques were used. The chocolate shoe is also becoming more popular and you can do a lot with those, including the hand-made bow to make it stand out," said Natasha.

The announcement of the shortlist was a surprise to Natasha, who had not thought more of the competition after entering her picture.
