Cheeky Jack’s bum tattoo raises £575 for hospice

CHEEKY Jack Gargrave raised £575 for charity by tattooing his backside.

Jack, 23, of Ipswich Road, Colchester, auctioned off space on his bottom to raise money for St Helena Hospice.

He challenged bidders to complete the sentence ‘I love...’ with any word or phrase of their choice.

The charity stunt came to a sore end as Jack completed his side of the bargain.

The winning highest bid on one cheek read: “I love Luke Hearn” after his pal Luke Hearn plumped up £150.

His girlfriend Gemma Bufton, 23, drew out a phrase from all of the submitted entries for his other cheek.

She got: “I love the pedestrianisation of Norwich City centre” – a reference to Steve Coogan character Alan Partridge. The entry was a joint suggestion from friends Cathy Luther and Freddie Bostock.

Dad-of-one Jack had the tattoos done by Alan Aldred, at Cosmic Tattoo in Sir Isaacs Walk.

He said: “I’m a little sore. I’m not looking forward to having to do an eight hour shift at work sitting down.

“Luke is one of my best friends, I have known him since I was 15 and now I will certainly always remember him.

“The tattooist said the other one is the longest phrase he’s ever had to do.”

Catherine Venables, community and events fundraiser from St Helena Hospice, said: “We couldn’t do what we do without people like Jack, and we congratulate him for using his initiative for a more unusual fundraising activity.”

Do not cut your bodies for the dead, and do not mark your skin with tattoos. I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:28

Tattoos are on the people who didn't get the word of the Lord!
