Back to the Future star Fox backs 'happiness' research

A HOLLYWOOD star met an Essex Uni professor after reading her research on the science of being positive.

Back to the Future star, Michael J Fox, discussed the work of Professor Elaine Fox in a US TV documentary.

The Essex University scientist was flown out to New York by researchers to take part in his ABC show, The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist.

She was invited to discuss her findings which have now been published in a popular science book, Rainy Brain Sunny Brain.

It looks to explain why some people see the glass half empty while others find it half full.

It suggests how our level of optimism may be rooted in our genes.
