    It is a sickening act and if the two arrested are convicted then they deserve a stint behind bars (however unlikely through the system!), but thousands of people go out on the weekend and good times, it does seem a (fairly) isolated incident, to an extent.

    To say close nightclubs becuase they are to blame is crazy, why not ban alcohol all together SR...? Would that fix the problems..?"

A teenage girl was punched in the face during a night out in Colchester.

An 18-year-old victim was attacked outside Liquid nightclub in High Street, Colchester, at around 2am this morning.

CCTV operators contacted police after watching the incident.

The female received medical treatment for facial and head injuries in a nearby SOS bus. Medical staff reported she was conscious and breathing and she was sent home to recover.

Police arrested two men aged 23 and 27 on suspicion of assault.
