MP calls for Government help for fishermen

AN MP has called on the Government to help local fishermen.

Bernard Jenkin, North Essex MP, wants to set up a trust that would build up much sought after fishing quota for small boats.

The idea follows Brightlingsea fisherman, Terry Stimpson, was summoned to court for exceeding his quota.

no what he should do is put his weight behind getting the quota system changed to a boat tonnage size/days at sea system.this would allow all fish to be kept.

It is a disgrace that perfectly good, saleable and edible fish is being thrown overboard because EU bureaucrats have no idea of what real life is all about.
