Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a ticket inspector.
The two boys, aged 19 and 17, were arrested in Tilbury on Sunday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They are still being questioned.
The ticket inspector was stabbed in the back after challenging two youths travelling without tickets.
The incident happened at East Tilbury station just before 9pm on Friday on the 8.20pm C2C service from Southend Central to Fenchurch Street in London.
British Transport Police said the ticket inspector was assaulted and stabbed.
The 42-year-old ticket inspector was taken to Basildon Hospital where he received three stitches in the wound. He was allowed home on Saturday evening.
