A TOY library could open in Clacton after Tendring Council gave planning permission for a children’s centre.
Sure Start applied to turn an industrial unit, in Oxford Road, into a toy library and family drop-in centre. It will also include office space on the top floor and a storage area.
Families with children under five will benefit, with the library opening between 9am and 5pm on weekdays, and 9am and 1pm on Saturdays. Six full-time and four part-time staff will work at the centre.
Sure Start said it would confirm more details once a launch date had been set.
There are currently Sure Start centres around the district, including one in Langham Drive, Clacton.
The centres provide advice and support for parents and carers, from pregnancy through to the first year at primary school.
