A MISSING woman has been found alive on a disused railway track following a search by police.

Police launched a search for Brenda Peck, 57, from Capel St Mary, after she went missing from her home on Thursday afternoon.

She was discovered alive, but very cold, in undergrowth on the disused railway line north of Capel by two police officers who were part of the search for her.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said: “She is now being taken to hospital for checks.

“Police would like to thank all those involved with the search, particularly Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue who assisted in freezing conditions.”

Officers were able to narrow the search after a member of the public called police on Friday to report a possible sighting of her heading towards the old railway track.

She was found by the officers around 1.15pm on Friday.
