THE Essex Police Band held its annual Christmas Cracker Concert in Colchester to raise cash for Help For Heroes.
More than 750 people watched officers, Colchester and District Pipes and Drums and the choir and band from St Helena School perform at Charter Hall.
Sgt Steve Scott-Haynes, one of the organisers, said: “The pipes and drums went down really well.
“They really got people moving, and they were clapping and singing along, while the carols were well received, as usual.”
The Essex Police Band was formed in 1966 by 20 serving officers and civilian support staff.
Over the years they have helped to raise more than £130,000 for good causes.
This year’s event is expected to have raised about £3,000.
