Heybridge Swifts can be assured of a 1,000-plus crowd when they entertain the hugely-supported Aldershot Town on Saturday.

Swifts, who picked up their first win of the season on Tuesday against Walton and Hersham, will be hopeful of getting something from the Shots, who have been in indifferent form despite winning three of four matches so far.

Highly-rated midfielder Nicky Simpson and striker Tony Adcock both face late fitness tests while youngster James Pullen continues in goal and Sean Caton is added to the squad.

Coach Ken Varney said: "It will be a good game, they are obviously many people's favourites to win the league and will be hard to beat.

"They will bring a few supporters with them and it's one of those games that everybody looks forward to."

Braintree will be on a high after beating Leyton Pennant in an FA Cup replay on Tuesday. They visit Romford who got their first win of the season on Tuesday at Oxford City.

Boss Richie Powling is likely to be without striker Gary Caldon, who limped off with a groin strain at Leyton after scoring the first of the team's two goals - he is rated as "very doubtful".

Long-term injury victims Russell Tanner, Ian Brown, Simon Milton and Shane Bailey are all still out.

In division two, Witham and Wivenhoe both face tricky-looking trips to Banstead Athletic and Wokingham Town respectively.

Witham could have defender Dean Braybrook back from injury for the first time this season, but are missing Paul Battram (ankle), Kevin Jopson (working) and George Young (suspended).

Wivenhoe have a full squad to choose from and welcome back Andy Smith, who came through a reserve game on Wednesday evening.

It will be only the Dragons' second league match after two, against Hemel Hempstead and Marlow, were called off.

In the Jewson League premier division, Halstead include reserve teamers Joe Smith and Steve Lodge in their squad for the visit of Great Yarmouth.

Clacton face a tricky match at Diss without David Gray and Jon Collins, who are both unavailable, and with Gavin Armitage facing a late fitness test.

Harwich visit Bury with both Gary Harvey and Scott McInnes set to return from injury. Elsewhere Maldon entertain champions Wroxham.

In division one, Brightlingsea will have new signing from Wivenhoe Tony Chatters in the frame when they visit Ely - Dan Daly and Ian Mitchell also return.

Tiptree player-manager and current top scorer Steve Parnell should be fit for his team's trip to Somersham despite missing Tuesday's match with Haverhill through injury.

Stanway Rovers face a tough trip to Swaffham.

A trio of the area's teams are in action on Bank Holiday Monday, with all three matches starting at 3pm.

Wivenhoe entertain Horsham in a Ryman League Cup match while in the premier division Heybridge visit Dagenham and Redbridge. In division one, Braintree Town are at home to Leatherhead.
