Old Chelmsfordians, leaders for much of the season slipped up again, this time at Writtle.

Writtle set a modest target of 160 for nine, Stuart Irving top scoring with 50 and Duncan Williamson adding 35, while Adam Sell took four for 36 off ten overs.

The old boys were then dismissed for 102. Stuart McNeil scored 38, while Matthew Spinks (5-26 from ten overs), and Duncan Williamson (3-30 in 11 overs) bowled well for Writtle.

The defeat of OC's allowed High Roding to claim the title a week early after their win over Broomfield .

After slipping to 53 for six, Roding recovered to total 139 for six, Welland (31) and Jones (20) adding important runs at the end. Gary Copeman took three for 15 in 12 overs.

Broomfield started well in their reply, but then slipped from 99 for three to 126 all out, Wilson claiming five for 19 off eight overs.

The relegation issue will not be finalised until the final weekend.

High Easter made 205 for seven at home to a rejuvenated Galleywood , but only Paul Marlow (58) responded to the challenge and the visitors were bowled out for 124.

Paul Bentley took four for 28 and Paul King three for 14 for High Easter.

Another side deep in trouble are Great Wakering and they could not respond to South Weald's 181 for five as they were dismissed 56 runs short, for 125.

The Great Wakering v High Easter meetingon Saturday could hold the key to who joins Broomfield in Division Two next season, while Galleywood entertain the already doomed Broomfield.

At Ingatestone , Corringham made 175 for nine with Rob Hutchinson scoring 62.

Warren scored 40 in the reply which ended with Ingatestone being skittled out for 131, man-of-the-match Hutchinson taking five for 28 and Hymas three for 36.
