After several years of Southend domination, the Chelmer Cycling Club regained both of the trophies given in memory of Bob Haworth, which are competed for annually between the two clubs of which he was a member.

This year's event was hosted by the Southend club and their best rider was Paul Cooper, in third place with 58m.41s for the 25 miles.

Dave Nock (55.36) just pipped Adrian Tovey (55.44) to take the individual cup, while Peter Barton (58.43) (winner in 1992) and Tim Bright (the first winner in 1979) (59.09), were placed fourth and fifth to complete the winning quartet, who took the handsome team bowl.
