Springfield's hopes of taking the Premier Division title were dashed as they went down by 58 runs at South Woodham Ferrers on Saturday.

South Woodham totalled 155 for seven with Steve Bridger (53) top scoring.

After tea, Springfield were dismissed for just 97, Julian Dorado claiming four for 12 from 11 overs and Jim Brooks four for 25 from 12 overs.

The defeat of the leaders left the way open for Aythorpe Roding .

Proffet hit 63 as Stock made 184 for nine, while Wright took three for 36.

Roding then cruised to victory, by reaching 186 for six, with 10 overs remaining.

Mark Rosewall scored 89 while Miles Reynolds and Bloxham took two wickets apiece and the victory gives Aythorpe a five point lead going into tomorrow's final round of matches.

Bentley made 229 for six before restricting Great Baddow to 203 for eight and thus condemning Baddow to playing Division One cricket next season.

Little Waltham totalled 235 for six against Great Waltham , Dave Jeffries leading the way with 62.

Great Waltham were then dismissed for 172, despite Gary Bloom's 56, while Cliff Gorst took five for 37, a spell which included a triple wicket maiden.
