A father faced with being banned from his son's graveside has threatened to take the matter to the European Court of Human Rights.

Tony Tatam, of Bradford Street, Braintree, has been locked in a battle with Great Cornard Parish Council since he was refused permission to visit his son Richard's grave.

And if a county court hearing fails to resolve the dispute he says he will take his case to Europe. Richard died in a fatal crash on the Halstead-Greenstead road in March 1997.
