Maldon manager Ben Embery was full of praise for his side after their exemplary performance at Gorleston.
Maldon made the long journey to Gorleston with a depleted side missing regulars Dean Kelly, Darren Weeden and Lee Edwards.
But it didn't affect their performance as they took the game to the home side.
Embery said: "It was a real pleasure to watch them. They put in an excellent performance against a good side."
It was Lee Sonnex who opened the scoring for the visitors, a cross came in and he coolly side-footed home.
But with ten minutes until half time Gorleston pulled level scoring a well taken goal.
But in the second half it was Maldon who took the initiative and following a great move it was Tommy Noble who finished it off to regain the lead for the visitors.
With ten minutes to go before the final whistle Sonnex made sure of the win.
A long clearance dropped behind a square back four and Sonnex controlled it, took the ball around the keeper and scored.
Embery said: "The players who came in did a great job. Young Jimmy Porter at right back had an excellent game. He was brilliant, he looks fresh faced, but he put in a great performance.
"And Craig Dennis coming back from injury at centre half also had an excellent game. I am pleased with the way the whole side played."
