A car which was stolen and was then involved in a hit and run incident with a 15-year-old girl has been found.

The teenager was slightly injured when the collision happened in Church Street, Harwich, at about 11.15pm on Wednesday.

The red Vauxhall Corsa, P603 MOR, did not stop after the incident. It had been stolen at around 8pm from nearby Albert Street.

Police located the car on Thursday at the old Mercedes site of the A120 at Bathside. All three locations are within a few hundred yards of one another.

The car was found with damage to its wing mirror and steering barrel. A forensic examination was carried out.
