Southend United came off second best during Saturday's seaside promotion clash at Roots Hall against Blackpool.
Experience shone through for the Tangerines against a young Blues line-up and the visitors took the lead after just 11 minutes.
Midfielder Richie Wellens skipped through the heart of Southend's rearguard and clipped a shot in off the left-post.
However, the Shrimpers finished the first half well on top with Blackpool goalkeeper Phil Barnes pulling off two good saves to deny midfielder David Lee and left-back Damon Searle.
Blackpool also survived a penalty appeal when defender Daniel Shittu bundled over Southend forward Ben Abbey in the penalty area.
The visitors wrapped up their victory though with two goals in four second-half minutes.
Veteran winger Paul Simpson netted with an angled drive after 59 minutes, before substitute forward Richard Walker bundled home a close range header on 63 minutes.
