With heavy rain again falling yesterday, the south Essex parks football scene looks like suffering another bad weekend.

A number of pitches are certain to still be waterlogged and many clubs will again be out of action due to the decision of local authorities to close a number of pitches because of the foot-and-mouth outbreak.

All 11 Rochford Council grounds are off limits and both Southend and Castle Point authorities have also ruled some of their playing fields out of action. The closures are currently likely to last for at least another weekend after this one.
