Holiday misery could hit Stansted Airport this summer following a decision by check-in and baggage workers to strike.
More than 1,000 members of the GMB union, who work for airport ground handling agent Aviance, voted on Friday to take strike action after rejecting a 2.5 per cent pay offer.
A spokeswoman for the GMB said that no dates have been confirmed for the strike as union leaders are currently discussing the timing of any action.
Aviance provides ground service jobs, such as baggage handling, ticket desks, despatch of aircraft and check-in desks, for a range of airlines, including JAL, British Midlands and Iberia.
Most importantly for Stansted Airport, the strike will affect EasyJet airline, which uses Stansted as one of it's main airport bases in the country.
