The life-saving charity which funds the Essex Air Ambulance has got a new man in charge.

The former chief executive of Essex Chambers of Commerce, David Crozier, has taken up the top position.

As the new director of the Essex Air Ambulance Fund, Mr Crozier will lead one of the county's best known charities.

He said: "I am delighted to have this opportunity to support and help develop this important and valued service for the county.

"The Essex Air Ambulance receives no financial support from the NHS, Government or National Lottery, except for the cost of the two aircrew paramedics on the helicopter."
