A Maldon couple who went through years of heartbreak are celebrating their son's first birthday.
Melanie and Dean Farmer, of Wentworth Meadows, were the subject of a TV series after trying IVF treatment for three years after Mr Farmer had undergone a vasectomy ten years previously.
Despite complications during the pregnancy, the couple celebrated Blaydon's birthday on Sunday.
Mrs Farmer said the family had a big party for him.
"It is great to have a baby of our own to celebrate. We have had a brilliant year with him. He is no trouble at all," she said.
