The Gable Hall School, Corringham, received an Arts Mark Gold Award to go along with the Sports Mark Gold Award it was given three weeks ago.

It was one of only a few schools in the country to do the double.

Headmaster John King said: "I am delighted that the Arts Council has recognised Gable Hall School's progressive, well balanced arts programme which enables pupils to work with local artists."
