Noisy neighbours may be evicted and unruly yobs named and shamed unless antisocial behaviour in a south Essex borough improves.
Tough tactics - Jack Lawmon says people must toe the line Picture:
Former police sergeant Jack Lawmon - Castle Point's first anti-social behaviour officer - talked tough tactics today, adamant the yobbish behaviour reduction he promised, will be delivered.
One month after taking up his new post, Mr Lawmon, who has been fighting crime since 1974, is gearing up to fight fire with fire - outlining plans to introduce behaviour contracts, and when all else falls, Asbos.
He will even turf noisy neighbours out of their homes, unless they toe the line.
Jack, 59, said: "You shouldn't take fairness as a sign of weakness because if people don't co-operate I will go for the Asbo. I work closely with the council's housing department, so people could face losing their tenancy if they don't behave - this is how seriously I am going to take things."
