Police are appealing for witnesses after a man is thought to have been struck by an air pellet.
The man, from Jaywick, was walking through an alleyway near Willow Way in the resort when he felt something hit his neck.
Acting Insp Pete Gerard said it is believed someone may have taken a pot-shot at the man as he was walking, at 10pm on Sunday.
"He went home quickly where he phoned police," he said. "It injured his neck and he was left with a red mark on his neck, which bled a little, but it was not serious."
