Birmingham was the setting for the second speed skating meeting of the season with South Woodham Ferrers Rollerblade club and their sister club Team Rollerblade both in action.

For the latter Chanel Moore, entering category three's first race of 2,000m, finished sixth, but was then even more determined and with a sprint from 1,000m exploded from the pack to pick up a first place for her team.

Next up was the duo of Blades' Sam Morrison and Richard Webb, competing in category two with a first race distance of 3,000m.

The pair paced themselves accordingly for a sprint finish down to the last straight where Webb came through second with Morrison fourth.

Webb and Morrison's last race in category two was a 1,000m, a distance both excel at.

They proved their ability with Morrison propelling himself into first coming into the last lap and Webb close behind, picking valuable points and placing Rollerblade second and third overall on the podium.

Joining the racing were nine skaters from the Woodham club.

First up in category five was Joshua Hatcher, winning both his 1,000 and 500m races to pick up gold.

Hot on his heels, team-mate Bethany Clayden came over the line in second place to pick up the silver medal.

It was a repeat of the previous week with another one, two, three in category four.

This time Robert Whiting skated to victory over distances of 1,500 and 800m.
