A woman was dumped in a river after being dragged by her hair in a terrifying attack.
The 44-year-old Colchester woman was walking on a footpath between the town's East Street and Castle Park when the assault happened.
A man assaulted the woman, then dragged her along by her hair.
Moving towards Castle Park, he then pushed her into the River Colne.
The attack happened at about 9.30pm yesterday.
