A MAN convicted of murdering a pensioner is set to have his case reviewed at the Court of Appeal this summer.
Simon Hall was jailed for life in 2003 after being found guilty of the murder of Capel St Mary pensioner Joan Albert.
However, Hall has always protested his innocence and the case has now been referred back to the Appeal Court in London.
A directions hearing was held at the Court of Appeal last week with renowned barrister Michael Mansfield QC representing Hall's legal team.
Hall's wife, Stephanie, who attended the hearing, said the legal teams were instructed to return in eight weeks with further forensic reports.
And she said it was hoped a date would be set for the appeal hearing.
