Colchester: New head takes the reins at school

There is a new head - although not a new face - at the helm at Colchester High School.

David Young, director of studies for the past two-and-a-half years, has taken from David Wood as principal.

Clearing early morning snow on his first day in the role was an unusual start to his headship, but Mr Young says his is the best job in the world.

“I feel it is a dream job, overseeing teaching, learning and the care of the pupils,” he said. “I am so excited about it.”
