AN out-of-control barbecue caused a blaze on a yacht.

Firefighters were called to Hall's Boatyard in Mill Lane, Walton, on Saturday at 8.36pm.

Two crews from Frinton Fire Station discovered a small vessel, moored next to Walton and Frinton Yacht Club, was alight.

A barbecue had burned out of control and the flames had spread to the main deck, damaging electrical wiring.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to bring the incident under control by 8.58pm.
