A HUNGRY paratrooper caught drink-driving while at a McDonald’s restaurant has been banned from the roads.
James Porter, a soldier based at Colchester’s Merville Barracks, was seen behind the wheel at a McDonald’s eatery in Malvern, Worcester, on February 18.
The 27-year-old had 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of his breath, Worcester Justice Centre was told.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Porter admitted the offence and was banned from driving for 18 months. He was ordered to pay £891 in a fine, surcharge and costs to the court.
