TWO Colchester venues will commemorate the 8th anniversary of David Bowie’s death with events which will celebrate the iconic musician.
Three Wise Monkeys, in High Street, and The Victoria Inn, in North Station Road, will host two shows in memory of the inimitable artist, who died from a battle with cancer on January 10, 2016.
The Prettiest Starman: A Tribute to David Bowie headlined Three Wise Monkeys for a sold-out date last night and there will be a second performance on January 12.
Musicians Anton Pace, Paul Rutterford, Nelson Nice and Cara Bruns will return to the city to perform a setlist which delves through David’s ‘golden years’ in the 1970s.
You can expect the band to perform hits such as Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold the World, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Station to Station, and more.
Tickets cost £12 and more information can be found at good-show.co.uk/events/411.
At The Victoria Inn, meanwhile, on January 14, DJ Terry Earl will also celebrate the iconic singer-songwriter.
The track-spinner will play some of the Starman's best tracks alongside songs from artists who were associated with the artist.
The event starts at 7pm and you can register your interest at tinyurl.com/26yx387n.
