A GARAGE owner has gone viral after sharing the moment a clumsy customer hit two cars… despite just having his vehicle fitted with parking sensors.

Ben Pace, 43, from Colchester, has co-owned the highly rated PaceAutomotive Body Repair Centre, in Hythe Hill, for the past seven years.

On Wednesday, the father-of-two’s top team of mechanics were commissioned to work on a blue Renault Clio which had been reversed into a post.

After installing loud parking sensors, to prevent the driver from ever repeating his unfortunate gaffe, the vehicle owner visited the garage to collect his car.

Once behind the wheel, however, he proceeded to drive into Mr Pace’s fiancée’s BMW 335d Touring before reversing into his business partner’s Renault race car.

“The car owner is a real nice guy and a lovely fella and we had a camaraderie because we are both Aston Villa fans, so we had a mutual depression,” said Mr Pace.

“But he turned up half an hour early, so his car was not quite in the right space, but we gave him the keys so he could look at the work we had done.

“He then started to drive it and all he had to do was turn the wheel but it was just bad luck – I was shouting at the top of my voice but he didn’t break.

“I put my hands behind the sensors to check they were working and they were very loud – he was shaken a bit but it was funny though.”

Since the comedy-like sketch, the driver has acknowledged fault and happily paid for the damage he caused to the £20,000 BMW.

Mr Pace has also uploaded CCTV footage of the incident to social media platform TikTok, garnering more than one million views in only a few days.

He said: “I have only just started on TikTok and signed-up to document my life and my kids – I am not going to be dancing on there but I am a joker.

“I only have a couple of hundred followers so uploaded the video thinking only my mates would see it, but it has gone absolutely crazy."
