AN office worker stunned a pair of teenagers after her dad’s car was vandalised by chasing them down in just her underwear.

Ciera Rogers-Starcky was staying at her dad’s flat in Bocking End on Sunday when a neighbour knocked on the door at about 10.20pm to say the window of his Ford Fiesta had been shattered.

Ciera, 21, ran into the street and gave chase, despite the fact she was getting ready for bed.

She said: “In the car park there were two young lads. One of them was in no fit state to be out on the street. He had blood and cuts all down his arm.

“I started going towards them and they made a run for it.

“I caught up with them, managed to grab one of them and I started bringing him back. The other one just sort of followed.

“I wasn’t wearing a lot. They both seemed a bit confused about what was going on.

“He was quite a big lad, about 6ft, and I’m only 4ft 10ins. He sort of stared at me in shock.”

Miss Rogers-Starcky, who works for Benson’s School of Motoring in Bocking End, said she only realised how little she was wearing while waiting for the police.

She said: “I was wearing more by the time the police arrived because I sent my partner to get something for me to put on.

“Luckily I keep a wardrobe in the back of my car.”

After police arrested the teens, one of them made off again and Ceira’s partner Adam Starckey, 27, chased him down to Sainsbury’s car park.

John Benson, Ciera’s boss and the owner of the flat, said: “Ciera was very brave doing this with little or no thought for her own safety, and her boyfriend too.

“It’s a shame there’s not more people like this around.”

An Essex Police spokesman said the windscreen of a Mercedes A140 had been smashed.

A 16-year-old from Braintree was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and escaping from lawful custody, while a 17- year-old, also from Braintree was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

Both were released on police bail until November 16.
