A TRUCK driver was involved in two smashes on the A12 including one which left a woman with head, back and neck injuries.
The white recovery vehicle was travelling southbound on the A12 near Capel St Mary at approximately 7.50am on Saturday when it left the road and crashed into a sign.
The truck was then driven back onto the dual carriageway but collided with a blue BMW causing the car driver to lose control and spin into a tree and a concrete bridge support.
Initially the recovery truck driver stopped, but then drove away quickly into Cutlers Lane.
The female driver of the BMW sustained a head injury and severe whiplash to her neck and back and was treated at Ipswich Hospital.
Anyone with any information about the truck or its driver is asked to call PC John Clarke at Suffolk Police Road Unit on 101 and quote the reference number HD/15/1487.
