HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised for Colchester’s new cancer centre after a book launch.
The event took place at the Royal British Legion in Wivenhoe.
An introduction was given by Chairman of the Cancer Centre Campaign, Sir John Ashworth, and a number of poems were read from the book, entitled Days Begin.
A raffle and the sale of copies of the poetry collection helped to raise £770.
Copies of the book will be on sale at Wivenhoe Bookshop, Red Lion Books, and Colchester General Hospital with each sale going towards the campaign.
